FORQ

FORQ is an ensemble that emerges from the fertile ground where jazz sophistication meets the unbridled experimentation of the avant-garde. This collective has a penchant for grooves that are as intellectually engaging as they are viscerally invigorating. The group was formed by keyboardist Henry Hey, known for his work with David Bowie on the latter’s final album "Blackstar," and bassist Michael League, the Grammy-winning mastermind behind the genre-defiant band Snarky Puppy. Together with an ever-rotating lineup of prodigious talents, FORQ has constructed a dynamic spectrum of sound, transcending traditional genre boundaries with their synthesis of jazz-infused improvisation, intricate compositions, and futuristic soundscapes.

Their most recent releases reflect a band unafraid to recontextualize their own material, showcasing their innovative spirit. With remixes titled "Four (Remixt)," "Lullabye (Haunted Chicken Remix)," and more, FORQ reveals their work to a host of creative reinterpretations. These remixed tracks, from the cerebral musings of "M-Theory (Wolff Parkinson White Family Fun Version)" to the soulful excavation of "Tiny Soul (flymyspcshp rebuild)," exhibit the band's openness to divergent creative perspectives while maintaining the tight musicianship and original compositional mastery that define their core sound. Even through the lens of other artists' remixes, such as "Rally (TL JK Remix)" or "EAV (Elia Bishara Remix)," the essence of FORQ's musical genius shines through, offering listeners an auditory experience that is at once familiar and refreshingly new.
