Afro House

Afro house is a vibrant and percussive genre that blends traditional African rhythms with modern house music elements. Characterized by infectious polyrhythms, driving drum patterns, and soulful vocal melodies, afro house often incorporates instruments like the djembe, kora, and mbira. Emerging in the late 1990s, the genre gained popularity in the 2000s, particularly in South Africa and Europe. Afro house celebrates African cultural heritage while embracing electronic music's global appeal. It draws from styles like deep house, tech house, and tribal house, but its distinctive use of African instrumentation and vocal styles sets it apart. As a genre, afro house embodies the spirit of African diasporic connection, fostering a sense of community and cultural exchange through its infectious beats and melodies.
