Australian blues is a rootsy, road-worn strain of blues that blends classic Chicago and Delta grit with the wide-open feel of Australian pub gigs and festival circuits. It often pairs punchy electric guitar and harmonica with swinging rhythms, warm vintage tones, and a strong sense of groove—sometimes leaning into funk, soul, and R&B, other times into ragtime, stomp, and early jazz. Lyrics tend to be plainspoken and story-driven, shaped by local landscapes and a hardworking, DIY live ethos. The result is music that’s both reverent to tradition and unmistakably Australian: raw, rhythmic, and built to move a room.
