Bardcore

Bardcore is a playful genre that reimagines modern pop, hip-hop, and meme staples as if performed in a medieval court. Songs are typically “translated” into Renaissance- and Middle Ages-flavored arrangements built from lutes, harps, recorders, viols, hand drums, and choral textures, often using modal harmonies and dance rhythms that evoke taverns and castles. Some tracks lean ornate and cinematic, others lo-fi and comedic, but the core appeal is the anachronism: familiar hooks recast as courtly airs, minstrel tunes, or stately processions, blending period-style instrumentation with contemporary songwriting and internet humor.
