Belly Dance
Belly dance music is a vibrant Middle Eastern dance style built to drive movement: pulsing darbuka and riq rhythms, clapping, and bass-heavy grooves underpin bright melodic lines from mizmar, accordion, ney, violin, or synths. It often shifts between classic Arabic maqam phrases and modern shaabi/pop energy, using call-and-response hooks, dramatic breaks, and quick tempo changes to cue hip drops, shimmies, and travelling steps. Tracks can feel earthy and streetwise or sleek and club-ready, but they almost always foreground an insistent beat and ornamented melodies designed for improvisation and theatrical flair.
