Belo Horizonte Indie

Belo Horizonte indie is a Minas-born strain of Brazilian independent music that pairs intimate songwriting with adventurous, city-at-night production. Rooted in MPB and folk tradition yet unafraid of electronic textures, it moves between acoustic guitar confessionals, soft psychedelia, and crisp beats that nod to pop, alt-rock, and Afro-Latin grooves. Vocals often feel close and conversational—melancholic but warm—while arrangements favor clever details: percussive syncopations, airy synths, and chorus lines built for small rooms and late drives. It’s a scene defined by craft, subtle experimentation, and a distinctly BH balance of tenderness and rhythmic swing.
