Bisaya Rap

Bisaya rap is a Cebuano/Bisaya-language hip-hop style rooted in the streets and cities of the Visayas and Mindanao, blending sharp, conversational lyricism with a distinctly local swagger. It often rides modern trap and drill-inspired drums—808-heavy bass, crisp hi-hats, and tense synth loops—while leaving room for melodic hooks, chant-like ad-libs, and occasional reggae or dancehall bounce. The writing leans on humor, bravado, and real-life grind: barkada dynamics, love and betrayal, hustle, nightlife, and regional pride, delivered in code-switching bursts of Bisaya, Tagalog, and English. The result is hard-edged yet playful, built for loud speakers and packed cyphers.
