Black Comedy

Black comedy is a spoken-word “music” genre built on rhythm, timing, and punchlines instead of melodies, drawing its groove from Black cultural cadences—church call-and-response, barbershop riffing, streetwise storytelling, and sharp observational wit. Tracks feel like sets: quick setups, sudden turnarounds, and tag-heavy refrains that land like drum hits. The tone ranges from playful and boastful to brutally honest, tackling everyday life, relationships, work, politics, and identity with fearless exaggeration and clever wordplay. It’s party-ready and cathartic at once—made to make a room erupt, then think on the way home.
