In modern recordings it frequently blends these ritual pulse structures with street-band energy, Bahia-flavored swing, and contemporary production—bass-heavy mixes, sampled textures, and occasional reggae, hip-hop, or electronic touches—while keeping the music centered on polyrhythm, communal vocals, and ceremonial intensity.
