Performed a cappella in a circle, its sound shifts between earthy growls and bright nasal tones, often using call-and-response phrasing and subtle rhythmic pulses. Repertoire includes pastoral, devotional, and social songs, typically sung in Sardinian dialects at festivals and community gatherings.
