Circuit

Circuit is a vibrant and energetic music genre that originated in the late 1990s in the Latin American LGBTQ+ community, particularly in Mexico and Puerto Rico. Characterized by its fast-paced rhythm, typically between 128-140 BPM, circuit music combines elements of house, techno, and tribal rhythms with catchy melodies and often, flamboyant vocals. The genre's development was heavily influenced by the circuit party scene, where DJs and producers created music to fuel the high-energy atmosphere of these events. Circuit's popularity peaked in the 2000s, with its cultural significance lying in its role as a soundtrack for self-expression and community building within the LGBTQ+ community. Notable for its fusion of electronic dance music with Latin American musical traditions, circuit music is distinct from other styles due to its unique blend of energetic beats, infectious melodies, and unapologetic flamboyance.
