Extratone

Extratone is an extreme and experimental subgenre of electronic music, characterized by its astonishingly high beats per minute (BPM), often exceeding 1,000. This creates a distinctive sound where individual beats blur into an audible tone, producing an otherworldly and frenetic auditory experience. Similar to speedcore and splittercore, extratone pushes the boundaries of rhythm and intensity. Artists like those in this unique scene employ a variety of sound design techniques, incorporating glitch elements, distorted synths, and frenetic layering, to craft immersive soundscapes that challenge traditional notions of musical structure and tempo. Often perceived as a test of endurance, extratone offers listeners a thrilling foray into the outer limits of sonic speed.
