Funk Bh

Funk BH (Belo Horizonte Funk) is a dynamic and gritty genre that explodes from the urban heart of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It distinguishes itself with its visceral beats, raw vocal deliveries, and an unabashed narrative that often reflects the street life, romance, and socio-political issues from the perspective of its vibrant youth culture. Drawing from the broader Brazilian funk sound, artists like DJ TH DO PRIMEIRO and MC Rick push the envelope with thunderous bass lines, catchy hooks, and a palpable energy that's both infectious and dance-inducing. The production is characterized by a heavy use of electronic beats, samples, and a distinctive flair for incorporating local musical elements and slang, making Funk BH a unique testament to the creative resilience of Belo Horizonte's urban scene.
