Glitch Beats

Glitch beats is a subgenre of electronic music characterized by its innovative use of digital errors and unconventional rhythmic structures to create intricate, often atmospheric soundscapes. Drawing on the aesthetics of digital malfunction—glitches, clicks, pops, and static—artists like Imploded View and Rykard blend these elements with ambient textures and minimalist beats, resulting in a distinct auditory experience that is both organic and synthetic. The music often emphasizes mood and nuance, using fragmented samples and looping patterns, as seen in the works of Traject and Boreal Network, to evoke an ethereal yet complex auditory journey.
