Louisiana metal, a subgenre deeply rooted in the bayous of the American South, is characterized by its sludgy and visceral sound that combines elements of doom, sludge, and Southern rock. The relentlessly heavy riffs draw from the bluesy heritage of the region, while the aggressive and often guttural vocals tell tales of despair, nihilism, and the occult, reflecting the swampy and sometimes bleak environment.
