Miami Metal

Miami metal is a diverse and vibrant subgenre that reflects the melting pot of cultural influences found in its namesake city. Fusing elements of sludge, doom, death metal, and progressive styles, Miami metal delivers a unique sonic experience characterized by heavy, down-tuned guitar riffs, aggressive rhythms, and intricate musicianship. Amidst the crushing weight of the music, there's often an undercurrent of groove and atmospheric textures that provide a counterbalance to the intensity. The genre also showcases technical proficiency and experimentation, seen in the complex time signatures and unconventional song structures. With bands ranging from the sludgy onslaught of Cavity to the progressive leanings of Cynic, Miami metal is an eclectic scene with a sound that manages to be both fiercely raw and meticulously crafted.
