Nueva Canción is a Latin American music genre that blends folk traditions with a strong socio-political message, championing themes such as human rights, democracy, and solidarity. Emerging as a powerful cultural movement in the 1960s and 70s, it fused indigenous musical structures with contemporary narratives, often in resistance to the authoritarian regimes of the time.
