Parang

Parang is a lively Christmas-season folk-pop tradition from Trinidad and Tobago with roots in Venezuelan parang and other Latin-Caribbean exchanges. Built for communal “house-visiting,” it features call-and-response singing in Spanish or Creole, bright strumming from cuatro and guitar, and infectious rhythms driven by percussion like maracas, box bass, and hand drums.
