Post-hardcore

Post-hardcore is a music genre characterized by its intense, emotive sound, often marked by complex rhythms, polyrhythmic instrumentation, and a blend of screamed, shouted, and melodic vocals. Emerging from the hardcore punk scene of the 1980s, post-hardcore evolved in the 1990s and early 2000s, particularly in the US, with bands pushing the boundaries of traditional hardcore punk. This era saw the genre's peak popularity, with its cultural significance lying in its expression of angst, disillusionment, and personal struggle, resonating with a generation of disaffected youth.
