Ragga Jungle

Ragga jungle is a high-energy music genre that emerged in the mid-1990s, characterized by its fast-paced drum and bass rhythms, often exceeding 160 beats per minute. This genre combines elements of Jamaican ragga and UK jungle, featuring heavy, bass-driven soundscapes, frenetic drum patterns, and frequently, MCing or vocal styles reminiscent of dancehall and hip-hop. Originating in the UK, ragga jungle evolved from the breakbeat and rave scenes, incorporating Caribbean influences and reflecting the multiculturalism of urban Britain. During its peak in the late 1990s, ragga jungle became a staple of the UK's underground club scene, representing a cultural fusion that celebrated diversity and energy.
