Riddim Dubstep

Riddim dubstep is a subgenre of dubstep known for its repetitive, swung rhythms and distinctive, minimalistic percussion. It emphasizes heavily syncopated and flanged out basslines that reverberate with a gritty texture, often accompanied by choppy, metallic, and distorted synth stabs that yield a hypnotic and raw energy on dance floors. The sound design is intricate, focusing on space and groove within the drops, creating a wonky and head-bobbing experience. Influenced by the reggae and dub roots of traditional dubstep, riddim strips down the complexity in favor of punchy, rhythmic basslines that resonate with the crowd's movement. Artists in this genre like Trampa, SVDDEN DEATH, and INFEKT are known for crafting aggressive and hard-hitting tracks that emphasize the power and simplicity of this addictive form of bass music.
