Santali Pop

Santali pop is a vibrant music genre that blends traditional Santali folk sounds with modern pop elements, creating an energetic and culturally-rich auditory experience. It originated from the Santal community, predominantly residing in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Santali pop features melodic tunes and rhythmic patterns that are often accompanied by traditional instruments like the tamak (drum) and tirio (flute) alongside contemporary beats. Lyrically, it explores themes of love, social issues, and cultural pride, often sung in the Santali language. Artists like Nirmala Kisku Soren and Shirfa Murmu bring authenticity and innovation to the genre, fusing indigenous musical aesthetics with accessible, modern sounds that resonate with both young and old audiences.
