Swancore

Swancore is an enigmatic subset of the post-hardcore genre, defined by its technical proficiency, complex time signatures, and emotive melodic passages. With its roots in the experimental sounds fostered by bands affiliated with Blue Swan Records, it incorporates a myriad of progressive and experimental elements. The term derives its name from Will Swan, guitarist of Dance Gavin Dance, and his influence can be felt in the intricate guitar work and genre-blending tactics that Swancore champions. This genre marries aggressive, hard-hitting riffs with intricate instrumental performances, often featuring soaring clean vocals contrasted with visceral screams. Though not exclusive to any one label, the style is characterized by its willingness to push boundaries, offering a fresh take on post-hardcore that is as unpredictable as it is captivating.
