Death Side was a blazing force in Japan's 1990s hardcore punk scene, known for their breakneck speed, raw energy, and anthemic lyrics about perseverance and rebellion. Formed in Tokyo in 1987, the band became pioneers of the "Burning Spirits" subgenre, blending chaotic aggression with melodic hooks. Their lineup featured vocalist Yasumi (later of Forward), guitarist Minatoya, bassist Takenori Otsuka, and drummer Ken-Wi. Classics like *Bet On The Possibility* (1993) and *The Will Never Die* (1995) cemented their cult status, while their frenetic live shows—often ending in stage-dives and smashed equipment—became legendary. After disbanding in 1996, Death Side reunited briefly in 2012, reigniting their fiery legacy for both longtime fans and new generations of punk enthusiasts.
