Aleksandra Słyż is a Polish composer, sound artist, and sound engineer known for her innovative approach to blending acoustic and synthetic sounds. With academic roots from the University of A. Mickiewicz in Poznań and the Poznań Academy of Music, she creates intricate drone structures often based on microtonal and electroacoustic tensions. Her work explores rich sonic textures and the subtle interplay between instruments and modular synthesizers, as well as interactive sonification systems that involve movement and human interaction. Aleksandra’s compositions have been showcased at major international festivals like Rewire, CTM, Unsound, and Warsaw Autumn, and performed by prestigious ensembles including the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Sinfonietta. She divides her time between Poznań and Stockholm, continually pushing the boundaries of contemporary music through her experimental and research-driven practice.
