Lard is a hardcore industrial-punk supergroup formed in the late 1980s, known for fusing aggressive guitar riffs, spoken-word tirades, and politically charged lyrics. The band is a collaboration between Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys fame and members of Ministry, most notably Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker. Their sound blends the raw energy and satirical bite of punk with the heavy, mechanical textures of industrial metal, creating a unique and confrontational style.
Some of Lard's standout releases include the debut EP Power Of Lard (1989), the full-length The Last Temptation Of Reid (1990), Pure Chewing Satisfaction (1997), and the tongue-in-cheek EP 70's Rock Must Die (2000). While never a full-time touring band, Lard maintains a cult following thanks to its potent social commentary, over-the-top performances, and the enduring legacy of its members’ main projects.
