Julia Traser is an Italian-born, Brighton-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her wistful, heartfelt indie-folk sound and clear, glassy vocals. Growing up in the Alpine town of Livigno, she started performing at age 12, drawing early inspiration from Lombard folk artist Davide Van De Sfroos, before her musical horizons expanded with artists like Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall, and Dodie—the latter sparking her love for the ukulele. Julia studied at BIMM Brighton and began teaching music during the pandemic, honing both her performance and educational skills.
Her music blends reflective lyricism with bright, string-driven arrangements—think acoustic guitar, ukulele, and gentle percussion—and she’s as comfortable busking on the streets as she is playing intimate gigs. Julia’s debut album, Perfect Timing, was crowdfunded in 2025 and recorded in Brighton, with tracks like “Hi You” showcasing her talent for turning personal stories into universal indie-folk anthems. She’s also released singles such as “We Are Golden” and “We’ll Forget the Whole World Tonight,” and has collaborated on tracks like “I’ll Just Swim Home Instead” with Marc Gallagher. Whether teaching, performing, or recording, Julia Traser brings authenticity and emotional depth to every project.
