Jeanines

Jeanines are a Brooklyn-based indie pop duo serving up sweet, jangly melodies with a DIY edge. Fronted by singer-songwriter Alicia Jeanine (whose name inspired the band's moniker), the project teams her wistful lyricism and breezy vocals with collaborator J. Von Cornell’s bright guitar work. Since forming in 2018, they’ve become darlings of the modern jangle-pop revival, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2019 through Slumberland Records and following up with 2023’s “Don’t Wait for a Sign” LP. Known for packing emotional depth into compact, fizzy tracks, Jeanines’ sound nods to 1960s girl groups and C86-era indie while maintaining a fresh urgency. Their catalog – including recent earworms like “Coaxed a Storm” and “Each Day” – feels like flipping through a diary full of clever observations and catchy hooks scribbled during NYC subway rides.
