Indrė Petrauskaitė is a talented Lithuanian pianist now based in London, where she balances performing and teaching. She kicked off her musical journey super young with her mom, piano teacher Lilija Petrauskienė, then honed her skills at Kaunas J. Naujalis Music High School under Birutė Kumpikienė—giving solo recitals, chamber gigs, and even playing with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra while still in school. By 1993, she'd snagged third prize at the Stasys Vainiūnas International Piano Competition, and in '94, she and violinist Vilhelmas Čepinskis took first in Lithuania's national chamber music contest.
After studying with Prof. Veronika Vitaitė at the Lithuanian Academy of Music (earning her BMus and MMus), Indrė racked up international wins like second prize in Italy's Senigalia Competition, third in Canada's Ludmila-Knezkova Hussey event, Grand Prix at Latvia's ‘Alternativa’, and more. She headed to London's Royal Academy of Music in 2000, studying with heavyweights like Christopher Elton, Petras Geniušas, and Alexander Satz, nabbing her Postgraduate Diploma, MMus, and DipRAM. She's performed with top orchestras like the Lithuanian National Symphony and Latvian National Symphony under conductors including Juozas Domarkas and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, and collaborates with the Vilnius and Kaunas String Quartets. Recent releases on Avie and Divine Art highlight her finesse with Liszt transcriptions, Mozart's minor-key solo works, and Ravel.
