Ava Nazar is an accomplished Iranian-American pianist and educator based in New York City. Born in Tehran, she began playing piano at the tender age of four and graduated from the Music School of Tehran as a top performer. Ava has performed extensively as both a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues such as Lerner Hall at Columbia University, the Manhattan School of Music, and internationally in Tehran and France. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and completed her master’s degree at the Juilliard School, where she also serves as collaborative piano staff. Beyond performing, she is passionate about teaching piano, with over five years of experience working with children.
As a versatile artist, Ava actively collaborates in diverse musical projects, including her duo with her brother Nami Nazar and the album *Nahoft*, which highlights works by Iranian women composers. Her career bridges Western classical tradition and Iranian musical heritage, reflecting her commitment to expanding musical access and cultural dialogue. Ava’s engaging performances have taken place at notable venues like the United Nations, Merkin Hall, and National Sawdust, and she continues to champion contemporary music alongside classical repertoire.
