Slagmaur

Slagmaur is a Norwegian black metal band hailing from Brekstad and Trondheim, kicking off in 1997 as Norske Synder before rebranding in 2006 under the leadership of the enigmatic General Gribbsphiiser (Rune Røstad), who handles everything from vocals and guitars to synths and cello. They're all about that raw, chilling true Norwegian black metal vibe—think cold, hostile atmospheres ditching flashy riffs and blast beats for something way more sinister and subconscious, like fighting small-town monsters in their early trilogy of *Svin* (2006), *Skrekk* (2006), and *Domfeldt* (2007).

The crew expanded quickly with multi-talented vocalist Aatselgribb (despite their rocky, feud-fueled dynamic), drummer/keyboardist Lt. Wardr, and later Dr. Von Hellreich on lead vocals, delivering chaotic orchestral black metal full of Gregorian chants, shrieks, and theatrical dread on albums like *Von Rov Shelter* (2009), *Thill Smitts Terror* (2017), and their latest *Hulders Ritual* (2026) featuring tracks such as "Ritual Dogs" and "Wildkatze." Self-proclaimed as "the darkest and scariest black metal band to ever set foot on planet earth," they've built a cult following with experimental edge and shocking live antics.
