Xiaoqiao

Xiaoqiao is a London-based harpist, vocalist, and model originally from Hefei, China, whose music is characterized by ethereal harp melodies, angelic vocals, and electronic effects. Her debut EP, *Weltschmerz* (2025), features four evocative tracks—“Lethe,” “Magnolia Dream,” “Weltschmerz,” and “Fleur de Sel”—which explore themes of memory, mythology, and dreams. The EP draws on ancient stories, such as Greek mythology and Taoist parables, blending these with contemporary soundscapes to create a fluid, introspective atmosphere. For example, the track “Lethe” references the river of forgetfulness from Greek mythology, while “Magnolia Dream” nods to the Taoist Butterfly Dream parable.

Xiaoqiao’s music also incorporates personal touches, such as the recorded purring of her studio cat Fleur on “Fleur de Sel.” Beyond music, she has worked in London’s fashion and live art scenes, collaborating with brands like Vivienne Westwood and Armani and performing at venues like the ICA and Lisson Gallery. Her sound offers a unique blend of the ancient and modern, inviting listeners into a dreamlike space where memory, mythology, and emotion intermingle.
