ATOM (Artists of the Opera MISSING)
ATOM (Artists of the Opera MISSING) is a collective ensemble known for the powerful contemporary opera *MISSING*, which confronts the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. The opera features music composed by Brian Current and a libretto by Marie Clements, weaving together contemporary classical music with Gitxsan language and cultural traditions. Led by conductor Timothy Long and performed alongside the Continuum Ensemble, ATOM brings to life the story of Ava, a young woman transformed through her encounter with the spirit of a lost Indigenous girl, exploring themes of grief, memory, and justice. Their work ensures that these vital voices and stories remain heard and celebrated through innovative musical expression.
