The Hollywood Stars

The Hollywood Stars are a rock and roll band with a story of false starts and comebacks that's as cool as the Hollywood hills themselves. They first formed in 1973, mixing glam rock flair with power pop hooks, and were part of that vibrant mid-70s L.A. scene that produced bands like the Runaways. While they recorded an album in 1974 (which would later be released as *Shine Like a Radio: The Great Lost 1974 Album*), they never quite broke through initially, with members eventually moving on to other projects like the Sparks.

But the story doesn't end there! The band was revived in the 2000s, picking up right where they left off with a renewed energy. They've been actively releasing music since, including newer studio albums like *Sound City* and live recordings from the Sunset Strip, proving they're still very much "Still Around." Their catchy anthem "King of the Night Time World" even found a second life when it was famously covered by Kiss on their 1976 album *Destroyer*.
