Zikir

Zikir music, deeply rooted in Islamic tradition, is a spiritual genre characterized by the rhythmic recitation of religious texts, prayers, and praises to God, often performed in unison by a group. This genre is traditionally used in Sufi worship and communal gatherings, aiming to induce a meditative and transcendent state. Artists like Ustaz Dzulkarnain Al-Hafiz and Syeikh Abdul Karim embody the essence of zikir by blending melodic chants with serene instrumental backdrops, often utilizing traditional instruments like the frame drum. Zikir exudes a profound sense of devotion and introspection, making it a unique sonic experience that transcends mere musicality to elevate the soul.
