Casper Skulls

Casper Skulls are a Toronto-based indie rock band known for their gritty yet melodic sound that blends post-punk urgency with jangly guitar hooks. Formed in 2016, the band consists of vocalist/guitarist duo Neil Bednis and Melanie St-Pierre, bassist Fraser McClean, and drummer Chris Anthony. Their music often explores themes of self-reflection and societal unease, delivered with raw energy and poetic lyricism. They gained attention with their 2016 debut EP *Lips & Skull* and solidified their reputation with their 2019 debut full-length *Mercy Works*, earning praise for their dynamic tension between vulnerability and intensity.

In 2023, Casper Skulls dropped their sophomore album *Here Comes Trouble* (via Next Door Records), featuring tracks like "The Mouth" and "Knows No Kindness," which showcase their evolution toward sharper songwriting and textured arrangements. Their sound—a mix of driving rhythms, tangled guitars, and haunting vocal trade-offs—continues to carve out space in Canada’s indie rock scene, balancing basement-show grit with thoughtful, earworm craftsmanship.
