Chris Brokaw
Chris Brokaw is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter best known for his work in the indie rock and experimental scenes. He’s widely associated with the bands Codeine (slowcore pioneers from New York) and Come (a key Boston alternative rock band of the 1990s), and he’s also built a long-running solo career that spans everything from stripped-down songcraft to more exploratory instrumental and electric-guitar-driven records.
Beyond those flagship projects, Brokaw has been involved in a wide web of collaborations and groups over the years, including The New Year (with members of Bedhead) and the duo Pullman. Whether he’s playing loud and angular, quiet and atmospheric, or somewhere in between, he’s known for a distinctive guitar voice and a restless, always-in-motion approach to making records and live music.
