Mark Fry is a British psychedelic folk musician best known for his 1972 cult classic album Dreaming with Alice. Recorded in Rome when Fry was just 19 years old, the album didn't gain widespread attention at the time of its release but later became a highly sought-after gem among collectors of acid folk and underground music. With its dreamy, surreal lyrics and laid-back acoustic arrangements, Dreaming with Alice has since been hailed as a lost masterpiece of the genre.
After stepping away from music for several decades to focus on a career as a visual artist, Fry returned to recording in the 2000s, releasing new material that continued in the ethereal, pastoral vein of his early work. Albums like South Wind, Clear Sky and I Lived in Trees (a collaboration with The A. Lords) show that his distinctive sound and vision remain fully intact. His music continues to resonate with fans of psychedelic and folk-inspired sounds.
