Ten East

Ten East is the long-running, mostly-instrumental desert/stoner rock side project of Brant Bjork, best known as the drummer for the legendary stoner rock pioneers Kyuss. The band operates as a loose collective, with Bjork often collaborating with a rotating cast of musicians from the Palm Desert scene and beyond, including bassist Mario Lalli of Fatso Jetson and guitarist Gary Arce of Yawning Man.

Their sound is a pure, sun-baked distillation of that iconic desert vibe: expansive, groove-heavy jams built on fuzzed-out bass, psychedelic guitar lines, and a steady, driving rhythm. Releases like *The Robot's Guide to Freedom* and *Extraterrestrial Highway* perfectly capture the feeling of a long, open-road drive through the Mojave, offering instrumental rock that's both meditative and powerfully gritty. While not as prolific as Bjork's solo work, Ten East remains a cherished and authentic outlet for the foundational sounds of the desert rock community.
