Colonel Bagshot

Colonel Bagshot was a progressive rock band hailing from Liverpool, England, that saw its inception in the late 1960s. The band was originally formed by Brian Farrell (vocals/guitar), Dave Dover (bass/vocals), Terry McCusker (drums/vocals), and Ken Parry (guitar/vocals). While their discography wasn't vast, Colonel Bagshot is best remembered for their scintillating track "Six Days War" from the album "Oh, What a Lovely War" released in 1971. This particular song, with its haunting melody and poignant lyrics reflecting on the futility of war, found renewed fame decades later when Iranian DJ and record producer DJ Shadow sampled it for his own track, "Six Days", which further solidified its timeless resonance with audiences worldwide.

Despite never reaching major stardom, Colonel Bagshot's music carried an experimental edge, merging the psychedelic sensibilities of the time with the burgeoning progressive rock scene. Their song "Six Days War" and its various remixes have gone on to be their most notable work, cementing their place in music history. The original and the subsequent remixes, including the energetic MalYar & Beat Boy remix, allowed the band to gain a cult following and endeared their music to a new generation. The continual interest and remixes of "6 Days" illustrate the enduring appeal of Colonel Bagshot's sound and the lasting impact they've made from their era.
