The Lunar Effect is a London-based rock band formed in 2017 by brothers Jon and Dan Jefford, later joined by vocalist Josh Neuwford, bassist Brett Halsey, and guitarist Mark Fuller. Known for their psychedelic approach to heavy rock, the band has built a reputation for dragging classic rock through a fuzzy, modern lens—blending grunge-soaked '70s rock, fuzzed-out blues, and melancholic British soul into something that feels both familiar and inventive. They released their debut album "Calm Before the Calm" in 2019, which earned underground success before the band signed with Svart Records. Their critically praised second album "Sounds of Green & Blue" arrived in 2024, followed by a UK and European tour.
The band's sound refuses to fit neatly into any box, channeling the spirit of the past through a warped, modern lens with thunderous grooves, fuzz-soaked guitar riffs, and fractured vocals that capture the unease of today's world. Their third album, "Fortunes Always Hiding," landed in October 2025 as their most ambitious work to date—a brooding exploration of loss, memory, and time that marks a new era for the band, deeper and more soul-baring than ever before.
