Jakob Ebers

**Jakob Ebers** is a versatile New York-based musician who grew up in a musical family just outside New York City, beginning his musical journey on violin at age four before exploring a variety of instruments. He earned his Bachelor of Music from the prestigious Eastman School of Music and went on to study at The Juilliard School for his Master's degree, where he expanded his creative horizons collaborating with renowned artists including Marc Cary, Wynton Marsalis, and Sullivan Fortner. A skilled bassist and composer, Jakob has performed at notable venues like Shapeshifter Lab and Kitano Jazz Club, and studied privately under Grammy-nominated artist Scott Colley and Grammy winner Miguel Zenón. Beyond his performance career, Jakob has been passionate about teaching music since 2013, instructing students in piano, bass, and guitar across all ages and skill levels, with many of his bass students achieving top marks and performing in New York State all-county and area all-state orchestras. In 2026, he released the debut album *Sky Garden* with guitarist Silvan Joray and drummer Jeff Krol, a collection of nine original compositions that showcases the trio's innovative approach to contemporary jazz.
