The Cravats

Okay, here's a friendly bio for The Cravats:

Formed way back in 1977 in Redditch, England, The Cravats are one of the UK's most unique and enduring post-punk bands. Fronted by the enigmatic The Shend (real name John D. Tipler) and featuring the distinctive saxophone of Robin Dallaway, their sound is a brilliantly chaotic mix of angular guitars, driving rhythms, and quirky, often surreal lyrics. They made a splash in the late 70s/early 80s underground with singles like "Gordon" and "Burning Bridges" on the Small Wonder label, plus their debut album "The Cravats in Toytown".

After going on hiatus for a while, the band reformed in the 2000s, proving their anarchic spirit was still very much alive. They've continued to release wonderfully odd and compelling music, like their album "Colossal Failure" and singles such as "Rub Me Out" and "Jingo Bells", staying true to their DIY ethos and experimental edge. They're a band that never really fit into any box neatly, and that's exactly why their fans love them.
