The Curious Bards
The Curious Bards are a unique ensemble that brings together the worlds of early music and Celtic traditions. Formed in 2015, this group of five instrumentalists trained at prestigious conservatories in Lyon, Paris, and Basel has made it their mission to explore and revive the lesser-known repertoire of 18th-century learned and traditional music from Celtic-influenced countries.
Though none of the members are of Irish or Scottish origin, The Curious Bards have gained recognition for their energetic and scholarly approach to performing music from Ireland, Scotland, and other parts of Northern Europe. Their albums, including "tradition" and "Indiscretion," have been praised for blending virtuosic performances with meticulous historical research, creating a sound that's both authentic to the period and excitingly fresh.
