Frogpond is an alternative pop-rock and post-grunge band formed in 1994 by guitarist and vocalist Heidi Phillips in Warrensburg, Missouri, near Kansas City. What started as a college project quickly grew into a notable fixture of the '90s alt and indie rock scene, distinguished by an all-female lineup and gaining traction with college radio airplay and major label interest. The band released two acclaimed albums in that era: *Count To Ten* (1996), produced by Everclear’s Art Alexakis, and *Safe Ride Home* (1999). They toured with acts like the Goo Goo Dolls, Toadies, and Fastball, earning a devoted fan base with their emotionally resonant songs and energetic performances.
After a long hiatus, Frogpond made a comeback with the release of *Time Thief* in 2021, marking their first new music in over two decades. This return also commemorated the 25th anniversary of *Count To Ten*, with updated personnel but retaining the spirit and passion that defined their early work. Heidi Phillips continues to lead the band, putting her heart and soul into the music that has endured in the hearts of fans for over 30 years, proving Frogpond’s lasting influence and identity in the indie rock world.
