Anemoia

Anemoia is an emerging alternative shoegaze band that originated in Co. Mayo, Ireland, in 2019. The band was founded by Gerald Higgins when he was just 16 years old. Initially, Anemoia's music was created in a bedroom setting, drawing inspiration from artists like A.R. Kane and My Bloody Valentine. Over time, the band evolved into a four-piece ensemble based in Dublin, featuring a lineup that includes Robert Cloughley and Matt Richards. Anemoia gained a niche following on SoundCloud before expanding their sound and performing live. They have supported notable acts in Dublin and headlined several venues, including a sold-out show at the Workman's Cellar. Their music often explores themes of grief and the human condition, blending shoegaze with elements of slacker and noise rock. Recent releases include singles like "Threads" and "Crutch," showcasing their evolving sound.
