Faces

Faces were an influential rock band that formed in 1969, after the dissolution of the Small Faces. With Rod Stewart on lead vocals, Ronnie Wood on guitar, Ronnie Lane on bass, Ian McLagan on keyboards, and Kenney Jones on drums, the band became known for their boozy, rollicking live shows and soulful, blues-infused rock music. Their music lived at the intersection of hard rock, folk, and rhythm and blues, epitomized by Stewart's raspy voice and Wood's bluesy guitar riffs.

In their initial six-year run before disbanding in 1975, Faces released four studio albums, beginning with "First Step" (1970), which demonstrated their raw, energetic rock 'n' roll sound. The subsequent albums, "Long Player" (1971), "A Nod Is As Good As a Wink... to a Blind Horse" (1971), and their final studio album, "Ooh La La" (1973), bolstered their reputation with hits like "Stay With Me" and "Ooh La La." Faces were known as much for their off-stage antics as their on-stage performances, carving out a distinct place for themselves in the annals of rock music. Though their time together was relatively short, the band's legacy endured, influencing future generations of rock musicians. As a testament to their impact, Faces were rightfully inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
