The Third Sound

The Third Sound is an enigmatic and innovative band immersed in the exploration of the psychedelic rock genre, with a discography that is as mesmerizing as it is diverse. The brainchild of Icelandic musician Hákon Aðalsteinsson, formerly of Singapore Sling, The Third Sound was conceived in Berlin in 2010, speaking to the city’s rich underground music scene and international cultural confluence. Characterized by their atmospheric layers of sound blending with a lo-fi, reverbed charm, the band's music is a unique fusion of shoegaze, post-punk, and dark psychedelic rock.

Their albums, like the introspective "Gospels of Degeneration" and the brooding "All Tomorrow's Shadows," have solidified their presence in the neo-psychedelic community, while releases such as "The Third Sound of Destruction and Creation" underline the band's continuous evolution and experimental nature. A standout moment includes the collaboration with Canadian artist Tess Parks on the entrancing "You Are Not Here". Showcasing their ability to engage audiences in both recorded and live settings, The Third Sound's "Fuzz Club Session" delivers a powerful performance that captures the essence of their sonic identity, with tracks like "Your Love Is Evol" and "You Are Not Here" exemplifying their command over melody and mood. Through their prolific output, The Third Sound has established themselves as a cult favorite among fans of psychedelic and alternative rock music.
