The Moonlandingz were a boundary-pushing British rock band that emerged from a unique collaboration between members of the eccentric Sheffield electronic outfit Eccentronic Research Council and Fat White Family. Originally conceived as a fictional band within the ERC’s 2015 concept album Johnny Rocket, Narcissist & Music Machine… I'm Your Biggest Fan, The Moonlandingz evolved into a real, full-fledged group featuring Lias Saoudi, Saul Adamczewski, Adrian Flanagan, and Dean Honer. Known for their theatrical live shows, gritty glam-punk sound, and satirical edge, the band quickly earned a cult following.
In 2017, they released their debut album Interplanetary Class Classics, co-produced by Sean Lennon, which fused elements of post-punk, glam rock, krautrock, and synth-pop into a wild and raucous sonic experience. The album featured tracks like “Black Hanz” and “The Strangle Of Anna,” showcasing their eclectic style and confrontational humor. The Moonlandingz proved themselves to be a bold and bizarre force on the UK music scene, though the project has remained relatively quiet in recent years.
