Spun Out

**Spun Out** is a Toronto-based indie rock duo known for their fuzzy, nostalgic sound that blends '90s alt-rock energy with modern DIY charm. Formed in 2017 by lifelong friends Alex Cooper (vocals/guitar) and Jacob Swann (drums), the pair built a cult following through relentless touring and a scrappy, self-recorded ethos. Their music marries introspective lyrics about anxiety, relationships, and quarter-life confusion with walls of reverb-drenched guitars and thunderous rhythms, earning comparisons to acts like Dinosaur Jr. and Sonic Youth.

After gaining traction with their 2020 EP *Open Mouth*, Spun Out leveled up with 2023’s *Lost & Found* EP, featuring fan favorites like “Paranoia” and the shimmering “Silver Shine.” Their raw, energetic live shows (captured in the *Audiotree Live* session) and genre-blurring tracks like “Heart Thru Your Eyes” showcase a band equally comfortable with punk grit and dream-pop tenderness.
